Don't Kill the King (a game of skill)
Skittles are set up in a diamond formation (see Skittles (Rules)).
Up to 3 balls can be thrown and the object of the game is to knock down as may skittles as possible WITHOUT knocking over the king-pin.
The maximum score for an end of 3 balls is therefore eight, knocking the king-pin over gives a score of zero no matter how many other skittles are knock down.
If all the skittles (including the king pin) are knocked down by the first or second ball they can be reset. The score is decided after the 3rd ball or earlier if the thrower does not wish to use all 3 balls.
Hundreds (lots of points in this game - a game that helps young people count)
Skittles are set up in a diamond formation (see Skittles (Rules)).
The object of the game is to knock down as many skittles as possible with 3 balls. If all skittles are knocked down they are reset -as per normal skittles rules.
The scoring for this game is as follows.
Skittles are worth 1 point each and the king-pin is worth 2 points (a possible 10 points per ball)
Anything scored with the first ball is multiplied by 3, the score with the second ball is multiplied by 2 and the score with the 3rd ball is just a count.
The first ball could score 30 points (8 skittles + 2 for the king-pin) times 3, the second ball could score 20 points (8 skittles + 2 for the king-pin) times 2 and the third ball could score 10 points (8 skittles + 2 for the king-pin), giving a maximum possible score of 60 points
